I started embroidering as a hobby in the summer of 2025, mostly because I wanted to add personalized touches throughout my own home. I quickly realized how much I loved it, started making things for other people, and somehow the business took off before I got around to monogramming half the things I bought the machine for in the first place.

For the next year, I grew OKC Embroidery alongside my 9-to-5 as the Events Manager at Allied Arts. What started as a hobby slowly took over my evenings, weekends and pretty much any free corner of my house. In October 2026, I stepped away from my career in events to pursue embroidery full time.

I love that personalization can turn something you could have bought anywhere into something that feels distinctly yours.
I love that personalization can turn something you could have bought anywhere into something that feels distinctly yours.
It might be initials tucked onto a favorite bag, a baby's name stitched onto a gift, something made especially for a friend's home or a completely custom idea that doesn't exist anywhere else yet. Those are always the projects that remind me why I started doing this.

And I care just as much about the experience of ordering as I do about the embroidery itself. I want you to feel like someone is genuinely paying attention to your order. That might mean making a custom mockup so you can actually picture your idea, spending too long deciding between two nearly identical thread colors, or wrapping everything beautifully before it leaves my hands.

As OKC Embroidery grows, that's the part I never want to outgrow. I get to put my name behind every piece that leaves my studio, and I want to be really proud of what shows up in your hands.

Somewhere along the way, I also started sharing the behind-the-scenes of it all on TikTok. I teach other embroiderers what I've learned, share tips and tricks for getting started, and bring people along for the less-polished parts of building a small business in real time.

And because I can never seem to have just one project going, it's not all embroidery over there. You'll also find plenty of our ongoing house renovations, things I'm loving and whatever else I'm currently getting myself into.

When I'm actually away from the embroidery machine, I'm usually working on our house with my husband, August, having friends over for spritzes on the patio, or hanging out with our dog, Jackson.

I'm happiest when I'm making our house feel like home, planning a reason to have people over, working on a project or finding some new little thing to obsess over. I like things that are beautiful but still meant to be lived with and enjoyed.

This business has become such a big part of my life in a very short time, and I'm incredibly grateful that I now get to spend my days doing it.
